Posted on Apr 26, 2022|By Stacey Van Cleve

With its rich history, infamous sports team, and unparalleled food scene, it's no wonder people love to visit Chicago. But like any destination, it's easy to spend too much when visiting Chi-Town. We have compiled some of the best budget-friendly ways to enjoy Chicago so you can enjoy the Windy City without worrying about your wallet.

The Skydeck in Willis Tower

The Skydeck is one of Chicago's most popular tourist attractions. Step out on "The Ledge" and experience breathtaking views of the city from over 1,000 feet in the air. At 110 stories high, four states are visible from the top; Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Cost - $25 per adult; $17 per child.

Millennium Park

Catch free concerts in Millennium Park all summer long or capture a touristy photo at the famous Cloud Gate sculpture, also known as the "bean." With its convenient location in the middle of downtown Chicago, you can find some of the best restaurants and boutiques just blocks away. Cost - FREE!

Shedd Aquarium

You'll encounter more than you bargain for at Shedd Aquarium, full of sea life that inhabits freshwater, marine, terrestrial, and even aerial environments. This was one of the first aquariums with a permanent saltwater fish collection and over 32,000 creatures call this place home. Cost - $39 per adult; $29 per child.

Lincoln Park Zoo

If you're an animal lover or have little ones who want to roar with lions, make sure you add the Lincoln Park Zoo to your must-see list. Founded in 1868, this zoo is one of the oldest in the U.S. and one of the few left with free admission (and a chance to play with penguins). Cost - FREE!

Navy Pier

Navy Pier is the ultimate place for family fun. Located just off the shore of Lake Michigan, it's the Midwest's #1 tourist attraction and draws in more than 8 million visitors annually. Enjoy a ride on the Ferris Wheel or take a boat tour with the family, whatever your age or interest, Navy Pier is a great way to spend the afternoon! Cost - FREE!

No matter how you choose to spend your time in the Windy City, there’s something you can find to fit any budget.
