Ferndale the Pygmy Owl

One of the few diurnal species of owl, the pygmy owl is also one of the smallest and most ferocious. Known for hunting songbirds, pygmy owls have stronger eyesight than most species. Pygmy owls have small black dots on the back of their head to trick predators into thinking they are always watching. Although not much larger than the average sparrow, pygmy owls are capable of bringing down prey almost three times their own size. More proof you shouldn't judge something by its size.
