Known for their striking plumage of black contrasting with bold colors - ranging from yellow to bright red - orioles are some of the brightest birds in the trees. Ranging in size from 7 to 10 inches long, orioles are often seen as a pest to humans, since they have a proclivity for eating berries and other plants. Female orioles are renowned for their weaving skills - creating intricate nests in the trees. Orioles are not territorial birds and tend to live in close proximity to one another.
